    Current unit:  Literary Analysis (Tuck Everlasting)

     

    During this unit, students will learn how to analyze literature by learning about figurative language, making inferences, how authors develop characters and the theme of a text. 

    Learning Targets:

    I can identify and analyze figurative language.

    • I  can identify simile, metaphor, hyperbole, and examples of personification.
    • I can analyze the text by explaining what the author wants the reader to understand. 

    I can draw an inference from the text.

  • Independent Reading - Homework
     
    Students are required to read a book at home for 30 minutes per evening. This book should be a book he/she enjoys reading.  All students will be required to talk and write about their book during class.   Each student will be expected to complete projects on his/her independent reading book.
